Wanheim-Angerhausen is a district of Duisburg in the Duisburg-Süd district. The district has a population of 12,964 people living on 377.4 hectares.
The place is already mentioned in a document from the Abbey of Werden in the year 1052 as Wagenheim and Angerohuson. Wanheim, which lies directly on the Rhine, and the adjoining Angerhausen to the southeast were part of the Duisburg council villages. However, both villages have been ecclesiastically assigned to Friemersheim on the left bank of the Rhine since the 12th century. Bounded by the Rhine, Angerbach, and Bergische Landwehr, the place formed a Cleves enclave in the Duchy of Berg, to which it belonged during the Napoleonic rule from 1805 to 1815. Under the subsequent Prussian administration, it was part of the Duisburg-Land municipality. In 1902, the municipality of Wanheim-Angerhausen was incorporated into the city of Duisburg.
