Beeck is a district of the district of Meiderich/Beeck in Duisburg with 11,551 inhabitants . On 1 April 1904, Beeck was incorporated into Ruhrort together with Laar and Beeckerwerth. On 1 October 1905, Ruhrort was incorporated into Duisburg together with Meiderich.
The oldest evidence of a larger settlement in Beeck are two early medieval burial grounds. From the one Franconian cemetery, today located in the area of Lange Kamp Street, two body graves are known, which date from the first half of the 7th century. The second burial ground, which became known as the Pothmannstraße burial ground, is indirectly proven by reading finds in a sand pit. These finds can only come from destroyed burials and date to the second half of the 7th and the first half of the 8th century. The burial ground could be related to a group of four farms that were called "Bodenbom" in the Middle Ages.
