Munscheid was a small municipality, whose area now belongs to the independent city of Bochum in Westphalia.
Munscheid was only 24 hectares large. It was located in the far southeast of the Gelsenkirchen district. It was the municipality of this district that bordered the three-district corner with the district of Bochum and the district of Hattingen.
