Boxhagener Platz in Berlin-Friedrichshain is located between Grünberger Straße, Krossener Straße, Gärtnerstraße, and Gabriel-Max-Straße. It was named in 1900 after the Vorwerk Boxhagen, to which Boxhagener Straße, running parallel to the square one block north, led. Before 1900, the square was referred to as Platz D. The facility was completed in 1903.
Commonly known as Boxi, the square serves as a central recreational area, meeting point, playground, and market square in the neighborhood. The different lifestyles of the various population groups settled in the district are particularly noticeable. Boxhagener Platz is protected as a garden monument.
