The city of Hamminkeln is located in the lower Lower Rhine region in the northwest of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The city has 27,711 inhabitants[1] and is part of the Euregio Rijn-Waal.De city is located in the Regierungsbezirk (region) Düsseldorf and in the district (Kreis) Wesel.De municipality of Hamminkeln was created in 1975 after the merger of 7 former municipalities. After the number of inhabitants exceeded 25,000 in 1995, Hamminkeln was given the title of city.
