Elmenhorst is a municipality in the Stormarn district in Schleswig-Holstein. The municipality consists of the localities of Elmenhorst and Fischbek.
In 1346, Elmenhorst was first unambiguously mentioned in documents. Until its division in 1588, the place belonged to the estates of the noble Borstel, and afterward to the noble estate of Jersbek. In 1873, Elmenhorst became a rural municipality in the parish administration district of Bargteheide in the Stormarn district. With the final introduction of the Prussian municipal constitution in 1889, Elmenhorst became part of the Jersbek administrative district. Since 1948, it has belonged to the Bargteheide-Land office.
