The Salvatorkerk is the main and oldest church in Duisburg and one of the most important late Gothic buildings in the Rhineland. The church is dedicated to Christ the Redeemer, the patron saint of Duisburg, and is currently in use by the Evangelical Lutheran community of Old Duisburg. The church suffered significant damage during World War II but was rebuilt, except for the spire.
