The Hennesee is a reservoir in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, created in its current appearance by the dam of 1952–55. Before that time, there was also a first dam, from the period 1901 to 1905. The lake is located just a few kilometers south of the town of Meschede.
The complex is primarily used for the supply of drinking water in the region, but also for the regulation of high and low water and for the generation of electricity by means of hydropower.
