Description

The St.-Georg-Schanze near Winterberg in the Hochsauerland district of North Rhine-Westphalia is a ski jump that is also used as a plastic ski jump in the Winterberg ski lift carousel in the Rothaar Mountains. The St.-Georg-Schanze is located in the north-eastern part of the Rothaar Mountains in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park, about 1 km west of the centre of the main town of Winterberg in the Hochsauerland region. It is located near the summit on the south-western slope of the Herrloh, which leads with the runway and the end of the ski jump to the valley of the river there at just over 650 m above sea level.
