The Lenne is the longest tributary of the Ruhr. The river originates at the summit of the Kahler Asten near Winterberg in the Sauerland, at an altitude of 819 meters. The Lenne flows for 128 km before merging into the Ruhr at Hagen. With an average flow of 25 cubic meters per second, it is the largest tributary of the Ruhr. After the confluence, the flow nearly doubles.
