The Lenne is the longest tributary of the Ruhr. The river springs from the top of the Kahler Asten near Winterberg in the Sauerland, at an altitude of 819 meters. The Lenne flows into the Ruhr at Hagen after a course of 128 kilometers. With an average discharge of 25 cubic meters per second, the river is the largest tributary of the Ruhr. After the confluence of both rivers, the discharge of the Ruhr nearly doubled.
