The Ems is a river that flows through northwestern Germany and borders the northeastern Netherlands via the Dollard and Westereems. It springs from the Senne (near the Teutoburg Forest in Germany, near Bielefeld) and flows into the North Sea via the Dollard and the Wadden Sea. The Ems is 371 kilometers long, of which 238 kilometers are navigable.
