The Corkscrew Museum is located in the historic old town of Burkheim, a district of Vogtsburg in the Kaiserstuhl region.
On display are around 400 corkscrews from the collection, which comprises a total of 1,200 exhibits, modern designer pieces such as historical exhibits from the approximately 350-year-old history of this accessory, which is important for the enjoyment of wine, and other exhibits that have to do with wine. The museum is located on two floors in the barn of the historic winemaker's house, which is about as old as the history of the corkscrew. Attached to it is a shop in the front building, where items related to the kitchen, bar and wine are offered. The museum is the only one of its kind in Germany and was founded in 2003 by Bernhard Maurer.
