The Dahlhausen dam in Radevormwald-Dahlhausen in the Oberbergischer Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia, was built in 1921/22 above the Hardt, Pocorny & Co textile factory to generate hydropower and to supply the industrial plants below with process water. It is an extension of the Dahlhausen compensation pond, which was built in 1897 by the Wupper Dam Cooperative and put into operation shortly afterwards. The balancing pond ensured that the water taken from the Lingese Dam and the Bevertal Dam during the ten hours of operation during the day to drive the water drives was buffered and evenly released to the middle and lower Wupper.
