The private brewery Moritz Fiege GmbH & Co. KG is a family-owned brewery founded in 1878 in Bochum.
The origins of the history of the private brewery Moritz Fiege date back to 1736. At that time, the innkeeper Moritz Fiege operated a distillery for cheap spirits and brandy on Beckstraße in Bochum. In 1876, Moritz Fiege acquired the brewing rights of the city of Bochum. He transferred these rights to his son Johann, who established the brewing operation at the current location on Moritz-Fiege-Straße in Bochum in 1878, thereby laying the foundation for today's company.
