The war memorial at Stadtpark Bochum is located in the southwestern entrance area of the Bochum city park near the Bochum Art Collection.
The war memorial, designed by the Dortmund sculptor Walter Johannes Becker, was inaugurated on August 18, 1935, in honor of the "heroes of the 4th Magdeburg Infantry Regiment No. 67 who fell in the world war 1914-1918." Among the other inscriptions on the stone plaques is "Despite need and death, onward and upward." The mentioned locations are Fillières, Dannevoux, Argonne, Verdun, Deuxnouds, Vauquois, Brimont, Flanders, Thiaucourt, Cambrai, Crozat Canal, Beauregard.
