The Emmerauen Tunnel is an 850 m long road tunnel in the area of the East Westphalian town of Lügde in North Rhine-Westphalia and part of the L 614 bypass, which was completed in October 2010 and now frees the historic town centre of the city of Lügde from traffic.
The bypass road leads through the Emmer floodplains. This means that the tunnel is located in the floodplain of the Emmer River, so that special construction measures were necessary to build in the groundwater and prevent the river water from entering the tunnel's entrance structures. The tunnel was built using the cut-and-cover method.
