Heineburg Castle, simply called Heineburg, is a former hilltop castle near the district of Fischbeck in the municipality of Hessisch Oldendorf in the Hameln-Pyrmont district in Lower Saxony.
The remains of the fortifications are located on the hill of Heineberg, which represents a mountain spur at the edge of the Upper Weser Valley. On two sides, the structure was protected by steep slopes utilizing the natural terrain situation. The other sides were protected by digging trenches as well as piling up berms and walls. The 10-meter-wide wall was about 3 meters high; the 2-meter-deep ditch had a width of 6 to 10 meters.
