The Blue Lake is a former clay pit in the municipality of Lünne in the Emsland district. It is located southwest of the village of Lünne in a rural setting. To the north and east are agricultural land, and to the west there is another lake.
The lake was created in 1936 through clay extraction for former brickworks and for the excavation of the Dortmund-Ems Canal. Today, it serves as a bathing and fishing lake and for local recreation. The waterfront properties are predominantly built with weekend houses. At the northern shore of the lake, there is a bathing area with a sandy beach approximately 50 meters long and a sunbathing lawn. At the edge of the sunbathing lawn, there is a catering establishment. Northeast of the lake, there is a campsite.
