NaturZoo Rheine is the zoo of the German city of Rheine in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which has a size of 13 hectares. About 93 species of animals are kept in the zoo. NaturZoo Rheine is best known for its collection of waterfowl and primates.
The NaturZoo Rheine was opened in 1936. In the early years, the zoo mainly focused on native animal species, although some monkey species were kept there from the beginning. From 1965 onwards, NaturZoo Rheine began to focus more on exotic animal species.
