The former Schulze Heil farm in Bergkamen houses the ecology station of the Unna district with the headquarters of various environmental protection associations and institutions under the joint sponsorship of the district of Unna and the Ruhr Regional Association.
Towards the end of the 15th century, the farm, which had been managed by the monks of the nearby Cappenberg monastery, was handed over to the Schulze Heil farming family as a hereditary lease. This also includes a small chapel used for the services of the friars. The family used the Schulzenhof for several generations for about 500 years. She was also given the right to use the chapel for her own marriages, baptisms and funerals. From 1585 onwards, there was a Catholic enclave in the otherwise Reformed parish. From 1802 onwards, however, the chapel fell into disrepair and was demolished in 1878, due to the relocation of the court and the dissolution of the Cappenberger Stift. The former location of the chapel is now home to the cooling tower of the Heil power plant. After the Second World War, a new chapel was built on the site of an old gravestone slab from 1730, which still has the rosette from the former chapel as a keystone. In 2003, this chapel was renovated.
