The German Orthodox Trinity Monastery Buchhagen is a settlement of Orthodox monks in Buchhagen, a district of the small town of Bodenwerder in the district of Holzminden in Lower Saxony. It is the only monastery of the Bulgarian Orthodox metropolis of Western and Central Europe and stands in the tradition of the Atho monasteries. The architecture of the buildings combines the Byzantine style with that of the Saxon pre-Romanesque style. Six monks currently live in the monastery, including two priest-monks, a deacon and a novice.
