The nature reserve Haseldorfer Binnenelbe with Elbvorland is located in the Wedel-Haseldorfer Marsh.
It extends about 15 kilometers along the Elbe from Wedel to the Pinnaummündung.
This area was placed under nature protection in 1984 and has an area of approximately 2160 hectares, making it one of the largest nature reserves in Schleswig-Holstein. Section 3 of the Nature Conservation Ordinance states: "The nature reserve consists of the near-natural riverbank landscape of the Elbe, which has been altered in parts by diking. It is a wetland of national representative and international significance."
