The Westphalian Railway Museum, located in the Hansaviertel city of Münster, focused on the topic of railway depots of the 1950s. The museum was maintained by the Friends of Railways e.V.
After their restoration, many of the exhibits were also operated on the museum's own grounds or on special trips. The museum was best known for a Köf II from 1948. Together with an original restored Prussian compartment car from 1927, so-called "hamster trips" were regularly undertaken to Enniger to Pängel Anton station, which has since been converted into a pub. The term "hamster ride" or "hamster train" was reminiscent of the first post-war years of the Second World War, when city dwellers regularly took the train to the surrounding countryside to stock up on food.
