The GTS Teutschenthal pit, formerly the Krügershall potash plant, is a former potash mine that is now used for backfilling with non-mining materials. It is located immediately north of Teutschenthal station. The mine field extends in an arc segment for about 6.5 km in a northwest-southeast direction. Since 1925, the mine has been connected at the level of the 713 m level with the mine field of the Salzmünde potash plant to the north and the Angersdorf mine field to the east. The area of influence of the interconnected mine fields on the earth's surface is approx. 10 × 2.5 km at an assumed boundary angle of 55° and extends from the western edge of the village of Angersdorf to the southern edge of Langenbogen including the municipalities of Langenbogen and Teutschenthal.
The company names changed often. Initially, the plant was called Kaliwerk Krügershall AG. From 1929 Burbach-Kaliwerke A.G., Magdeburg, Krügershall plant, Teutschenthal station. After World War II, the plant became a SAG operation in accordance with Order No. 124 of the Soviet Military Administration in Germany. From 1952 then VEB Kali- und Steinsalzbetrieb Deutschland . Finally, in 1970, VEB Kombinat Kali, VEB Kali- und Steinsalzbetrieb "Saale", Teutschenthal plant and from 1988 VEB Kalibetrieb "Ernst Schneller" Zielitz, Teutschenthal plant. From 1 June 1990, the Treuhandanstalt Berlin became the sole shareholder of KALIMAG GmbH, Teutschenthal station, Straße der Einheit 8.
