Freudenthal Castle is a castle complex built in the 16th century in the small town of Uslar in southern Lower Saxony. It is considered one of the most significant castle complexes in Northwest Germany, especially due to its size. The complex, built in the style of Weser Renaissance, is also referred to as the "Pearl of the Weser Renaissance," burned down 53 years after construction began due to a lightning strike and was not rebuilt. Remnants of the castle ruin, including walls of the ground floor, can still be found in the present-day Uslar Castle Park, southwest of the old town center.
