The Pritzwalk transmitter is a basic network transmitter of Deutsche Funkturm GmbH for broadcasting radio signals. It was set up to serve northwestern Brandenburg in the village of Buchholz in Prignitz, four kilometers south of Pritzwalk. A 163-meter-high steel lattice tower is used as the antenna support. The transmitter went into operation on August 7, 1996, with FM and analog TV.
The transmitter primarily serves the northwestern parts of Brandenburg as well as large areas of the states of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony-Anhalt, and northeastern Lower Saxony.
