The Beit Tikwa Synagogue on Detmolder Street is the religious and cultural center of the Jewish community in Bielefeld, Germany. The name Beit Tikwa means "House of Hope" in Hebrew. This synagogue was built in 2008, transforming a Christian place of prayer, the Paul-Gerhardt Evangelical Church. It is considered to be the first synagogue in Germany to be born from the restructuring of a church.
