The Donnersberg transmitter is a broadcasting facility of the Southwestern Broadcasting Corporation located on the Donnersberg mountain in the Donnersberg district of Rhineland-Palatinate. It serves as a basic transmitter for FM broadcasting and DAB+ as well as television. Previously, the facility was used by the former Southwest Broadcasting Corporation.
The Donnersberg transmitter is situated in the Northern Palatinate Mountains on the Donnersberg, the highest mountain in the Palatinate at 686.5 m above NHN, in the district of Dannenfels. About 660 m east of the rock formation Königsstuhl, whose highest point corresponds to the mountain peak, the transmitter is located next to a spot that is 673.5 m high. About 350 m west of its transmission tower is a former U.S. Army transmission facility, and 210 m east stands the lookout tower Ludwigsturm.
