Walkersbach

The Walkersbach is a stream in northern Baden-Württemberg, measuring just over 8 km in length. It flows into the Rems from the right below Lorch in the Ostalb district.
The Walkersbach originates in the Welzheim Forest on the southern slope of the narrow, ribbon-like Lias high plateau between the central Wieslauf Valley and the Leintal to the north and the Remstal to the south. Approximately one kilometer southwest of the central road triangle of Welzheim-Breitenfürst, it springs up at the upper edge of the valley forest in the Welzheimer Hanggewann Buchschnorren. From there, it initially flows southward, then southeastward, in a forest valley that widens in a wedge shape. In the first kilometer of its course, its streambed often lies in a steep-walled trough; here, as well as further downstream until it enters the Remstal, it receives numerous tributaries from such strongly relief-like ravines. After that, the bottom of its valley levels out to about 390 m above sea level, and the K 1886 rises in switchbacks to the left, which will accompany the stream almost to its mouth, changing to the K 3270 at the district boundary in the lower valley.
