Detmold Castle is a castle in the city center of Detmold, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was the residence of the Principality of Lippe until 1918 and still belongs to the House of Lippe.
This castle is one of the most beautiful buildings of the Renaissance of the Weser.
The building, whose construction was completed in 1673, originated as a medieval castle, begun in 1366, surrounded by water, and walls from that time still remain today. Its corner towers at the four corners are very characteristic.
