The Homert Nature Park was an area of about 550 km² that was designated as a nature park in 1965. On 1 May 2015, it merged with the Ebbegebirge and Rothaargebirge Nature Parks to form the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park. The former nature park is located in the Sauerland, between the Lenne Valley in the southwest and the Ruhr Valley area in the northeast. The park got its name Homert from its highest elevation in the southeast, the 656-metre-high Homert in the Lenne Mountains.
