The Mountain Church of the Sorrowful Mother of God is a pilgrimage church near Laudenbach, a district of Weikersheim in the Main-Tauber district. It is located west of Laudenbach at the end of a Stations of the Cross. The building houses treasures of art.
The construction of the house of worship was initiated by the local lords of Finsterlohe, and the foundation stone was laid in 1412. In 1421, "the chapel in the high wood" was assigned to the parish of Laudenbach by Pope Martin V., and the original document is now located in the State Archive in Stuttgart. The church was consecrated in 1459 by the Würzburg bishop Johann III. of Grumbach.
