The Urberg is part of the Teutoburg Forest. It lies northwest of the center of Bad Iburg and southwest of the Dörenberg, the highest elevation of this part of the Teutoburg Forest. To the north is the 310-metre-high Grafensundern. To the northwest lies the community of Hagen am Teutoburg Forest, to the north the town of Georgsmarienhütte. The Urberg stretches from southeast to northwest. In the northwest, it reaches the border with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia near Holperdorp, a farming community belonging to the municipality of Lienen in the Tecklenburg region. On the north side flows the Sunderbach. The Urberg is accessible by hiking trails.
