The village church is a listed church building in Schwinkendorf, a district of the municipality of Moltzow in the district of Mecklenburgische Seenplatte. The church belongs to the parish of Gielow in the Rostock provostry in the church district of Mecklenburg of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany.
The building was erected in the middle of the 13th century. The nave, choir, and sacristy are mostly made of boulders. The choir of the two-aisled church is recessed, and the sacristy is located to the north. Powerful buttresses were added to the choir afterwards. During the renovation from 1860 to 1867, the eastern gable was renewed with remnants of the original structure. The arrangement and shape of the windows have been changed several times. The older Romanesque, pointed slit windows are deeply embedded in the frame with brick casings. The plain ship portal in the north has been blocked up, while the one in the south is more elaborately designed. In the possibly still medieval south vestibule, there is the priest's door, with stepped frames and set round bars and capitals. The richly profiled west portal is offset to the south from the axis; it was partially overlapped when the tower was added. Instead of the originally planned vaulting of the nave, a star vault was inserted around 1500 into three bays. It rests on two octagonal pillars with corner round bars and on consoles at the walls. The triumphal arch between the choir and the nave is a deeply drawn-in pointed arch. The ribbed vault in the choir was originally designed in a dome shape. The dome vault in the sacristy is decorated with contemporary paintings, such as ornaments and Christ symbols. The window paintings were executed from 1863 to 1864. On the north side, symbols of the believing soul are depicted, while opposite them are Christ symbols. The windows in the choir show the apostles Peter and Paul.
