Neuruppin Station

The Neuruppin train station is located in the city of the same name in northern Brandenburg. It has only existed in its current form since a comprehensive renovation of the railway facilities in 1999/2000. During this renovation, the original Neuruppin station was closed to passenger traffic, and the Neuruppin West stop was opened to the west of it. Neuruppin West is a part of the Neuruppin station, and the same applies to the Neuruppin Rheinsberger Tor stop, which has existed since 1899. The station includes a workshop of DB Regio AG, located on the grounds of the former railway depot. The reception buildings of the old Neuruppin station and the Neuruppin Rheinsberger Tor stop, as well as a locomotive shed in the railway depot, are listed as historical monuments.

In Neuruppin, the railway lines from Wittstock to Kremmen, which runs approximately from northwest to southwest, and from Neustadt to Herzberg in an east-west direction intersect. Both lines run together for about two kilometers through the urban area. This section has mostly belonged to the area of the Neuruppin station since the track renovation.
