The Dammer Bergsee is a lake and a nature reserve near the town of Damme in the Lower Saxony district of Vechta. The 1.05 km² conservation area, designated as NSG WE 222, has been under protection since 1995. It is located in the Dammer Berge ridge and is part of the FFH area 317 "Dammer Berge." The lake itself, which is situated 2 km north of the town center of Damme, was about 700 m wide, approximately 560 m long, and on average 3.20 m deep in the 2000s. However, it was already evident at that time that the lake was tending to shrink. This shrinkage was accelerated by the water shortage in the years 2018 to 2020.
