The Taubertal Festival or Taubertal Open Air is a rock and pop open-air music festival that has been held annually in August since 1996 in the Taubertal in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bavaria. The founder of the festival is Volker Hirsch. The current organization is handled by the KARO Konzert-Agentur Rothenburg GmbH.
The festival spans three days, with around 18,500 visitors counted on the grounds each day. The festival site on the Rothenburger Eiswiese is bordered on the left side, facing the main stage, by a steep slope and on the right side by the waters of the Tauber.
At the other end of the festival grounds stands a second stage, the "Sounds for Nature" stage, where, among other events, the final of the global emerging band competition Emergenza takes place each year. In alternation with the regular bands, the up-and-coming artists perform on this second stage, and the winners of the competition then perform again on the main stage.
