The Speicherstadt in Potsdam is a development area that is to be transformed into an urban district in the next few years. By the end of 2014, 253 rental and owner-occupied apartments had already been built in the southern area and listed buildings had been renovated. By 2022, around 270 apartments and a large hotel are to follow on the northern part.
The Speicherstadt is located in Potsdam, between Brauhausberg and Havel, opposite the city palace. It is bordered to the south and east by Leipziger Straße and Lange Brücke, and to the north by the railway line from the main station. To the west, the area is naturally bordered by the Havel River.
