Officer Casino Döberitz

The Officer Casino Döberitz was located in Dallgow-Döberitz in Brandenburg and was built in 1895 as part of the establishment of the Döberitz military training area. Its use was limited to the summer months, during the troops' training periods. This explains the simplicity of the standard construction, which was also used in other military training areas. After the casinos in Altengrabow, Hohenlockstedt, and Munster had already been abandoned and torn down years ago, the demolition permit for the Döberitz casino was now granted as well. The demolition took place in April 2014.
The building was constructed in half-timbered style on a brick base. A few years later, an outer wooden cladding was added, similar to that of the casino in Munsterlager. This change is said to stem from an initiative of Emperor Wilhelm II, who admired wooden constructions during a trip to Norway. The roof construction consisted of a gently sloping gable roof or single-pitched roofs covered with bitumen felt. In the center of the building was the approximately 390 m² large and nine-meter high dining and banquet hall with a view into the open roof structure.
