The Kniestedt Church is a former Evangelical Lutheran church building in Salzgitter-Bad, which was already mentioned in the 15th century as the church of the village of Kniestedt. The building has been used for cabaret events in the city of Salzgitter since 1985.
It is not possible to determine with certainty when the "St. Nikolai Church", the actual name of the church, was built. Comparative studies of the architectural style of the church with those of Vöppstedt and Ohrum suggest that the construction took place as early as the 11th or 12th century. The parish of Kniestedt was first mentioned in a document from 1455, according to which Heinrich von Kniestedt sold a 100-acre forest to the church council.
