The Collegium of the School Brothers in Illertissen is a gymnasium of the educational institution of the Diocese of Augsburg in Illertissen in the district of Neu-Ulm.
The School Brothers of the Order of Saint John Baptist de La Salle are a Catholic religious community that primarily admits lay brothers. As innovations, the School Brothers, abbreviated as FSC, which stands for Fratres Scholarum Christianorum in Latin, introduced classes as a form of education and French as the language of instruction instead of Latin in their schools, and they prohibited corporal punishment. They were opposed by the Jansenists and only received royal approval from Louis XV on September 28, 1724, and papal approval from Benedict XIII on January 26, 1725.
