The Knock Lighthouse is located in the far west of Emden at the Knock, which represents a turning point for all shipping on the Lower Ems. The tower, which looks unusual for a lighthouse, serves several functions: it acts as a beacon, as a radar and direction tower, and as the Ems traffic center for monitoring shipping on the Ems.
