St. Francis Church in Zwillbrock, Germany, is a Baroque Roman Catholic church built in the first half of the 18th century as part of the Minorite monastery there.
In 1651, during Christmas, an open-air mass was celebrated in the vicinity of Zwillbrock by the Franciscan Father Georg Philippi from the monastery of the Minorites in Bocholt. The mass was mainly intended for the Dutch Catholics in Groenlo and the Lordship of Borculo, who were no longer allowed to practice their faith there after the Peace of Münster. This mass, which attracted great interest, is considered to be the first step towards the foundation of the monastery of Bethlehem ant Schwillbrock with its church by the Franciscans in Zwillbrock. The chapel, built in 1652 and expanded in the same year, was replaced by a stone chapel in 1656. The current Baroque church was built in the period 1717-1720 and was dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi in 1748. This church replaced the previously built chapel.
