The Pontstraße is a street in Aachen that runs from the Ponttor to the marketplace in front of the town hall. It is part of the former King's Road that kings took in the Middle Ages coming from Krefeld and Roermond. In the imperial city of Aachen, they were crowned. Already in the year 1232, the description platea que punt appelatur can be found for this street. This could be translated as "street that is called punt."
