The Karlshof Fountain is located in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, in the courtyard of the Karlshof, in close proximity to the Aachen marketplace.
The Karlshof Fountain was created in 1969 by Ottmar Hollmann from marble, concrete, and bronze, which, with its octagonal layout, recalls the octagon of the Aachen Cathedral. The bronze reliefs depict the "Seven Liberal Arts" of Roman antiquity on seven sides. The eighth field provides a summary of all seven arts.
