The Mehe lies above the federal highway 495, the source is at the Großenhain/Ebersdorf road bridge, the mouth into the Oste is near Brobergen, where the Mehe pumping station, built in 1956, is also located. Between Dornsode and Alfstedt, the Westerbek flows from the right. Other tributaries are the Wallbeck between Alfstedt and Mehedorf and the Hollener Mühlenbach between Hollen and the northern end of Ostendorf. The Mehe was important for the choice of the coat of arms of the joint municipality of Geestequelle, which illustrates the watershed between the Weser and Elbe in a river symbol. The rivers Lune and Geeste, which arise in the joint municipality, flow into the Weser, while the Mehe flows into the Oste.
