The Hastedt steam power plant was built in 1905 in the Bremen district of Hastedt. It is located on the right bank of the Weser just above the Weser weir and is the oldest power plant in Bremen.
For the time, it was a modern three-phase power plant with turbine drive and an output of 2,400 kilowatts. For a long time, its chimneys – "the seven black ravens" – shaped the appearance.
