The Catholic Church of St. James the Elder is located in the municipality of Uder in the district of Eichsfeld in Thuringia.
The church was built in 1910 on the site of two predecessor buildings from the 12th and 17th centuries. The church records state that the original church stood almost on the same spot. At the beginning of the 17th century, the structural condition of the original church was so poor that a complete renovation took place in 1608. Its exterior architectural style resembled that of the current church. In 1720, the main portal was renewed, and in 1752, a new high altar was installed. In 1895, a new organ was purchased.
