The Georg Breusing was a lifeboat of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked Persons of the 26-meter class, built in 1963 by the shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen in Lemwerder under construction number 5870. The internal designation of the DGzRS was KRS 6.
The ship was christened in Bremen-Vegesack on May 29, 1963, on the occasion of the 98th birthday of the DGzRS in honor of the founder of the first East Frisian rescue association, the Emden chief customs inspector Georg Breusing. His great-granddaughter, Dr. med. Ingelene Breusing, was chosen as the godmother.
